If we become more sedentary as we age, leg strength and balance decline, making us more prone to falls, sometimes leading to hospitalizations and difficulty recovering. Tai Chi can help promote strength and balance to prevent falls, and it can be done in a way that doesn't require years of practice to be of benefit. One of the twentieth century’s most famous Tai Chi masters, Prof. Cheng Man Ching, has developed a series of exercises that while not having the complexity of Tai Chi (and the time it takes to learn it), achieve the goals of enhancing leg strength and balance.  These exercises are safe and simple to perform, and at the same time, highly effective.
