Behavior change communication: Why do people do what do, or not do what they should do?
This will be a participatory discussion with Paula Claycomb on why it is so difficult for us to change our behaviors. Sometimes we don't KNOW that a behavior is unhealthy and it might be a fairly straightforward issue of learning something. But often, we know we ought change our behavior -- exercise more, quit smoking or drinking, or stop driving -- but we can't bring ourselves to make the change. Why? What can we do for ourselves, or for someone else who is resisting a profound change in the way she or he is doing something?
